Where the ingredients come from
In Nepal the nettle is far more than a weed. As ‘sisnu’ it belongs to everyday cooking, and for generations the fibre ‘allo’ has been won from the Himalayan nettle and woven into fabric. Amla, the Indian gooseberry, is among the oldest plants of the ayurvedic home pharmacy. Neem comes from the tree of the same name, whose leaves and oil are traditionally used for cleansing in South Asia.

When it suits
As a solid alternative to shower gel, and for anyone who wants to try soap for their hair. Washing hair with soap often takes two or three attempts before the hair adjusts – that is normal and it settles.

To make it last
Let it dry somewhere airy rather than leaving it standing in the soap dish.
