Wool from the highlands
Sheep have always been part of mountain life in Nepal; at altitudes where farming is barely possible they are often the basis of a livelihood. Their wool is coarser than that of European breeds, which makes it particularly good for felting – coarse fibres interlock more firmly. It is worked undyed or in strong colours.
