Symbol of luck and strength
Product description
Product description
This handmade ceramic incense holder is shaped as a small elephant and combines decorative design with practical function.
On the elephant's back there is a small opening for your incense stick. The ash falls neatly into the round dish, so your incense spot stays tidy.
In many cultures the elephant is a symbol of luck, strength and wisdom. That makes this holder not only a practical companion for your incense rituals but also a special decorative piece or an affectionate gift.
Because every piece is made by hand, every incense holder is a one-off with small individual details.
Quality & Origin
Quality & Origin
Thrown or shaped
The round holders are made on the potter's wheel – which is why they are exactly round. An elephant cannot be made that way. Figures are built up by hand or worked in a mould and then finished off. That is why figurative ceramics take considerably more working time in small workshops than a plain dish – and why no two elephants turn out exactly alike.
How it is made
Made and glazed by hand in Nepal, in small ceramic workshops.
With your purchase you support local craft and fair working conditions.
