Where the scent comes from
One mix-up first, because it happens constantly in the incense trade: ‘aloe’ there often means agarwood, also called aloeswood – a dark, resinous fragrant wood that has nothing to do with the plant. What is meant here is aloe vera itself, the succulent with the thick leaves, originally from the Arabian Peninsula and now grown in warm regions worldwide. As an incense scent it is correspondingly green and light.

When it suits
In spring and summer, in the morning, in small rooms. Aloe vera is one of the least insistent scents in the shop – if you like incense but nobody else in the house is meant to smell it, this is a good compromise.
