Lavender Incense Sticks

Lavender is one of those scents almost everyone knows – as an incense stick, soft and floral.

Where the scent comes from
Lavender originally comes from the Mediterranean and is now grown in Nepal as well. For incense the dried flowers are finely ground and worked together with herbs and resins into a paste, which is rolled around the bamboo stick by hand in the workshop. Every batch turns out slightly differently – that is part of handwork.

When it suits
In the evening, when the day is winding down. For reading, for quiet hours, for yoga in the late afternoon. In the bedroom, better to light it beforehand and air the room afterwards than to let it burn while you fall asleep. For small rooms half a stick is often enough – press it out halfway through and use the rest later.

Lighting it properly
Hold the tip in the flame until it glows evenly, then blow the flame out. If the stick goes out after a short while, it usually was not hot enough.
