Product description

A special handmade paper made from Lokta fiber, traditionally produced in Nepal. The Lokta plant (Daphne bholua) grows in the high altitudes of the Himalayas and regenerates after harvesting – without the shrub having to be cut down.

Lokta paper is known for its robustness, natural texture, and long durability. This makes it ideal for creative projects, gift wrapping, or special paper crafts.

Each sheet is unique: pattern, texture, and paper thickness can vary slightly. The naturally frayed edges are also part of the charm – they develop during drying on wooden frames and emphasize the handmade character.

Ideal for:
– Gift wrap & packaging
– Scrapbooking, journaling & collages
DIY projects, book covers, labels or decoration

A piece of the Himalayas for your creativity – natural, robust and crafted with a lot of handwork.

Quality & Origin

Lokta paper has been traditionally produced in Nepal for centuries. The fibers come from the inner bark of the Lokta shrub (Daphne bholua), which grows at high altitudes in the Himalayas.

The plant regenerates after harvesting, making the material particularly sustainable. The paper is handmade in small workshops and then dried in the sun.

Each bow is made using traditional handcraft techniques, supporting local craftsmanship in Nepal.
