Where the scent comes from
Jasmine opens its flowers at night. That is why it is traditionally picked in the dark or in the early hours of the morning – after that the scent fades quickly. In India and Nepal the flowers are threaded into garlands, for temples, for weddings, for the hair. It takes a great many flowers for very little scent, which makes jasmine one of the most laborious natural fragrances there is.

When it suits
In the evening and for special occasions. Jasmine is sweet and present – in a small room half a stick is enough. If you prefer something plainer, cedarwood or juniper is more likely your thing.
