Why soap should lie dry
Soap dissolves in water – that is its principle and at the same time its problem. If a bar stays in its own puddle, the underside softens and is washed away without ever having been used. What matters is therefore not the dish itself but that the water can escape and air can reach the underside. That is exactly what the drainage holes do.
